Eligibility: Contestants must be (1) a male amateur golfer at least 25 years of age by the first round of the Championship; (2) a resident of West Virginia (defined by the WVGA residency policy); and (3) an active member of the WVGA.

Format:  Qualifying will be an 18-hole stroke play event.  Thirty-two (32) players will comprise the final field for match play.

Qualifying:  All non-exempt entrants must qualify at 1 of the 3 regional qualifying sites listed below.  Fees must be received by each deadline.  April 30^th for the regional qualifying and the second $75 by May 16. Any exempt amateur may compete in regional qualifiers to earn WV Player of the Year points (medalist bonus) without jeopardizing their exempt status.

May 6      The Pines CC, Morgantown
May 8      Glade Springs, Daniels
May 12    Sleepy Hollow GC, Hurricane

The number of qualifying spots will be determined by the WVGA once entries have closed.  Spots will be based off of statewide entries and available spots.  At regional qualifying, if needed, there will be a sudden-death playoff to determine the last qualifying spot and 2 alternates.  Alternates will be seeded (1-6) at the conclusion of the third regional qualifier.

Match Tree brackets will be determined by finish at each regional qualifier.  The 4 Semi-Finalists from 2007 will be seeded (1-4). You may only compete in 1 qualifier.

Practice Rounds:  Practice Rounds are the responsibility of each contestant at Stonewall Resort.  Contact the pro shop for tee times, (304) 269-8885.

Entries, Forms, Fees and Refunds:  All players are responsible for submitting complete entry forms and appropriate fees by the deadlines: 4:30PM on Wednesday, April 30^th for all exempt players ($125) and qualifiers ($50); for those who qualify at regional qualifying sites the ($75) needs to be received by Friday, May 16.  Late, unsigned, incomplete or faxed entries WILL NOT be accepted.  Entry fees will be refunded regardless of reason if the WVGA is notified by the entry deadline (888) 383-9842.  If after the deadline, entries will be refunded for reason of illness or injury if the WVGA is notified by the 1^st day of the Championship.  No refunds will be given if notified beyond the first day of the Championship.  A $20 service charge will be assessed for ALL refunds.
